In my classroom, every student deserves the chance to show what they know - not be limited by what they can’t do yet. For my students with IEPs who cannot spell grade-level words, I provide an accommodated spelling test. They still take the same assessment as their peers, but they are not graded on spelling, since that skill is directly impacted by their disability. To support their independence and dignity, their test includes a word bank at the top of the page - giving them access without draw
